Marmande leaves yellowing

Some of the leaves on my outdoor Marmande tomato plants are yellowing and withering. I acclimatised them before putting them outside about a week ago. Should I be worried about this?

Where are you @alanbee ?  It's too cold to put tomatoes outside in most of the UK and those look look like they've been affected by it.  You need to wait until night temperatures don't often dip much below 14C before they can stay outside day and night.  You can put them out during the day and either bring inside or cover with fleece at night.  Keep them warmer and they should recover.

I'd agree with @BobTheGardener - but they should recover if you give them some protection for another couple of weeks.

Hasn't even been warm enough here during the day [yesterday or today] for toms, never mind night time   :D

@Fairygirl hopefully things will get warmer up there soon!  I know you've mentioned before about how tricky it is to grow them outside with such a short growing season.  We gardeners like challenges (mostly) though! :D My weather here is a tad more continental than much of the UK so I see large variations between day and night temps at this time of the year, which can be tricky for many plants.  Have a drought too - having to even water established trees! :'(  Good job I have plenty of time for all the extra work bringing stuff in and out of GH. I'm in Durham. Think you've answered my problem. Thanks for the advice. Learning curve for me. It's only my second year of gardening, this being the first I have started from seeds.

You'll soon get the hang of it and this forum is a great place to ask if you have any questions.  I've been gardening for 40 years and learn several new things every week (and often every day!) by reading the threads posted here. 👍
