Cuttings of Stipa Arundinacea

We have some Stipa Arundinancea in a pot in our back garden, and would love to put some of this in the front garden, in the ground. Does anyone know if I can take a cutting and replant it, and if so, the best way to do it? Thank you!

    It is propagated, either by seed, or division.

    Thanks, punkdoc. I'm a bit of a garden novice, so if I was to divide it, can I literally take some of the plant and root and move it? Or will that kill the original plant?

    Dig it up, then carefully pull it apart, so that each section has shoots and roots, then replant. Now is a good time for doing most grasses.
