Cosmos & pinching out

    Cosmos are really tough plants now that the warmer weather is finally here.
    You could let them get to 1ft then cut them back to 6" and they'd hardly notice, but I pinch them out when the stems have toughened up a bit and have 4-5 sets of leaves.
    Mine are in a cold frame now about the same size as yours. They'll be ready for a nip in a few weeks, but you can leave it longer and chop them back a bit more, they won't mind.

    Good to know and thanks! They just look so delicate at the moment I’ve grown them from seed potted them on looked after them for weeks I just don’t want to mess it up now!!!
