Fuchsia in a pot

I've just bought a very nice looking Fuchsia Genii hardy fuchsia (another supermarket cheapie I'm afraid) but I was wondering if you can grow them successfully in pots.

    I have grown this Fuchsia successfully in pots for years.

    Thanks for that. What size of pot would you recommend as a minimum size. Would a 12"x 12" pot be OK for starters.

    You can start them in pots but they will reach their full potential in the ground. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    What size of pot is the plant currently in?

    If you you've bought a fuchsia in a 1 litre pot I wouldn't be chucking it straight in a 12" container but pot it on into a reasonable size bigger.

    I've got a few in pots now and they seem happy enough. A couple were in pots that were too small before long last year but they're shooting again after being left out all winter so can't be that unhappy.

    Genii in a pot looks good too-
