Worried about new turf!!
I had turf laid down 5 days ago and not sure if it looks ok as I think its going a bit yellow especially around the joins. I have been watering twice a day morning and evening. I have never had a garden before so am totally new to this! There is a very dry patch by the path but soil underneath is moist . I read somewhere that over watering is as bad as under watering. Thank you so much for any advice.

A really good, long soak - usually once a day should be sufficient. A plot the size of your pic should get about an hour in total. If you're experiencing high temps, and/or drying winds, it's best done in the evening.
The edges haven't been butted up well enough, which is why you're getting them yellowing.
It'll be fine though. Worst case scenario is that you may need to re seed any bare bits

Frequent cutting, only taking a little off at a time encourages tillering, which just means it encourages the grass to 'bush out' and spread, and that should help a little too.
