A potted ever green tree or shrub

in Plants
This forum has never let me down with great advice so I am hoping you can help me!
Our next door neighbour has sadly ripped all the shrubs a large cherry tree and hedge out of the garden so it has exposed ours which is a little wildlife haven. The birds are struggling with the open space and lack of cover. I have climbers over the fences and ground cover but the birds need something taller so flit into. I don't have much room but would like an ever green in a pot which will be in full sun, approx 1 meter tall now and grow to maximum 2 metres. Any ideas?
Thank you for any suggestions.

Laurel comes to mind-only because I have some growing in the garden-not in pots. Occasionally mine get a few red berries on of a decent size. I don't know if the birds eat them or not.
Anything in a sunny site is going to need quite a bit of care too.
While not really evergreen as such, you might get away with something like Cytisus [broom]
Holly is another, but they don't grow quickly, and they would be a bit restricted in a pot. Not something I've ever tried though
Maybe some of the Berberis or Pyracantha would be ok.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thank you for the suggestions I am going to go to my local nursery in a few weeks and see what they say.
I am so sad that they have taken away the habitat I just want to try to help the wildlife.
