Magnolia sunrise - black petals 😢

Hi, my magnolia sunrise has black petals - do you know why this is?

It's getting very tall - should I prune it back? If so, when is best to do this?

Ps I did notice some foam from a spittlebug - not sure how much of an issue this is?!

    This has only happened since a few weeks so since early spring - I don't think it's been cold enough for frost. Though I may be wrong!

    Whereabouts are you @chloesmith61 ... thereve been quite a few sharp frosts over the country in the past couple of weeks. 🥶

    Hi, in South London. We did get a cold spell recently, so it could be that??
