Asparagus?

Was weeding my garden this morning and found what looks identical to Asparagus. I bought the house last summer and haven’t really paid much attention to the corner of the garden where these are growing so don’t know if they were there last year. Can anyone help?

Certainly looks like Aspsargus. Cut one of the tips, and see what it tastes like.

Yes. That’s asparagus 100% definite. Lucky you 😋

Some people have all the luck.  That's two posters today getting free asparagus.

And they don’t even have to click and collect at the farm shop or socially distance at the supermarket.

@josusa47 ... Many years ago I planted an asparagus bed.  One day I went out for the afternoon and came home to find a very proud fifteen year old son who had wanted to get on the right side of his mum so he’d dug over the veg patch, pulling put ‘those clumps of dead sticks’ (black currant bushes😶) and ‘some strange weedy rooty things’ 😭 😭 😭

He’s in his forties now and still uses that incident to illustrate his unsuitability for gardening tasks 🤣

I know, how annoying, I've spent years as well as money trying to get mine to grow!

Thank you all so much for your help! I’ve come home from work today and noticed it has tripled in size and there are lots more appearing. Can anyone help with what length they should be removed at and which method I should use? Please excuse the weeds in the area I was in the process of removing them all when I discovered the Asparagus! 😊
