Where does your Mum want to keep it ?  On a bright windowsill or a shady corner or what ? Flowering or nice foliage ?  There are a number of options open to her which needn't be too hard to keep going despite her problems with the Jade plant.
On a sideboard on the landing, there’s a big south facing window about 7-8 feet away.

I have no idea how she killed the jade, but they do have a peace lily that’s still alive so maybe it was over watering.

I haven’t discounted it!  That was just my first thought when I googled it.

I actually like spiders, less keen on sinister looking plants, I read Day of the Triffids at an impressionable age! 😉

Got the dragon tree!  Just a little one, looks really nice!

They did have the zz plants but they were right by the tills and a bit awkward to get to with the social distancing, but never mind, mission accomplished!

I think spider plant babies are lovelly, I have lots of tradescantia I propagated very pretty, green/silver leaves one side, bright mauve the other, they seem happy everwhere.  I have those things called string of pearls, (20 orchids)A pretty Hoya, scented banboo orchids, which are not those ones shown in orchid books, dendrobiums. They have tiny white scented flowers late winter.
