Leaf curl & white marks on leaves

Apart from my Wisteria wilt I've also got leaf curl on my bay leaf tree in my back garden which I've had for the last 4years & can't get rid of. I've now noticed it on one of my 2 Peonies in my front garden & I don't know what's causing it? The other peony looks healthy. Also a mystery are white marks on the tips of the leaves of my poppy & I've noticed it on other plants but it's not furry like the white spot I've read up on- it looks like someone's dripped paint or bleach on intermittent leaves? Can anyone help me with identifying what these are & how to treat?

Mildew is a possibility (white marks), but it's one of those situations where a photo would speak a thousand words, if you can post one here.
Bay Sucker is a possibility re. your Bay, but again a photo would help

I can't see anything wrong with any of them really.
The tiny white patches are caused by the weather and you can ignore them.
The 1st leaf looks like it's had sun burn or frost bite or both.

I don't grow peonies so not sure - but it looks fine to me
maybe someone else will have an idea

It may well be Bay Sucker.
I have them on my Bay too.
It doesn't look great, but so long as your bush is a decent size it'll not hurt it.
Some info from the RHS here to help-

I use my bay leaves so have never sprayed my bush in the 20-odd years I've had it

  • Thanks Pete8-yes it certainly looks like that-I had a look at the link. I don't spray pesticides in my garden either if I can help it. I've not used the bay leaves yet though as it put me off a bit not knowing what was wrong with it. The tree is very established & about 6ft high-I planted it next to my conservatory which gets full sun about 15years ago & its done well there. There are new shoots coming so its not killing it but I was worried what it was- it's such a shame it looks so tatty. Thanks for replying.

If it's really troubling you, just trim the bits off. It shouldn't hurt a mature bay bush.
I don't bother and just use leaves that are not affected. As the season progresses the affected leaves usually drop off anyway, so a good idea to remove the dead leaves under the bush - needless to say, I don't bother :)
