Compost privet without a shredder

Hi

Our new garden has a lot of privet. I cut it back and now have quite a lot of woody privet bagged up at the back of the garden.

I don't have a shredder, what can I do to compost it?

    separate the woodiest bits and you can run the mower over the thin bits.

    My mowers not that powerfull. Will it be ok?

    I got a shredder on freecycle

    I've looked on eBay for a second hand one but nothing near enough. I'm not sure I gave the room to store on either

    maybe share one with a friend who has storage space?
