Looking after Comfry

I have quite a large comfrey plant and wondered how to look after it. It is beginning to look a bit sad, but the bees appear to still like it. Are you suppose to dead head the flowers or trim back?

I've never done anything to mine, I just leave it to look after itself.  When the leaves start to wilt at the end of the summer, I cut the plants at ground level and put them in the compost bin.  If you want to tidy it up, it won't do any harm.

You can cut it down to a few inches and it will send up fresh shoots, and probably reflower in a few weeks.  If you are using it for compost, you can cut it down once a month through the summer.
