Can this hedge be saved?

My hedge is mostly dead and covered in ivy. If I pull out the ivy, cut the hedge right back, water and feed it, will it eventually come back to life?

    I'd leave the ivy to cover it over

    It looks like a gold leylandii, it will not grow back. Let the ivy grow now you have a ivy hedge.

    I agree with the others @yasin.ismail84 .
    It's been cut back too far, and the ivy is actually helping to cover. It's a common problem unfortunately. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
