compost bin

i am a newbie in gardening and have got 3 full compost bin left by previous owners which we have not touched can i use that to lay on huge vegatable patch which we converting into flower bed or do i need to get rid of it

    Lucky you! The garden's probably been looked after well. 
    It's quite likely that the three bins are at different stages, so have a dig in there and see what it's like. If it's composted (brown and crumbly texture, no bad smell just earthy, a few twiggy bits are OK) then go ahead and use it. If there are dry twiggy/strawy bits round the outside, leave those and they can go back in with your own garden rubbish. If not composted yet, post again and tell us what it's like and we'll be able to suggest what to do next (pictures would be helpful if you can take some).
