Geum urbanum

So I've probably spelt this wrong however we have suddenly got a rash of geum urbanum in our perennial beds. I think it's maybe come in as a freebie plant from my in-laws in his foxglove seedlings. Does this respond well to be painted with herbicide ? It's been mentioned on here a lot recently as a problem plant/invasive species and have enough of the serious weeds already marestail, creeping buttercup, creeping thistle.
