Using stock tanks for raised beds

Is it worth trying to find (3 1/2 foot stock tanks for growing veggies in raised begs?  Any experiences?

I presume you mean some kind of water tank, usually made of black polypropylene.  We see people using these as planting beds at our allotment, very successfully.  Make sure it has good drainage holes, and avoid filling it with just compost (which doesn't have much nutrients).  Good top soil, with perhaps some compost, is better.

Basically almost anything that can hold soil, with some drainage, can be used to grow things in.  At our allotment people use old sinks, baths, watering cans, buckets, dumpy bags, compost bags, etc and they all work given the advice above.  We should have a competition for the most unusual thing you can grow something in, trust me, you'd be surprised and amused!
