  I think it might well be rock rose, botanical name Helianthemum, so google that and see if you think it's a match. Comes in many varieties, lots of lovely colours, single and double flowers.  I think I've just talked myself into buying some.

  I’ve tried and none seem to mat h. They’re all far smaller!

  Weird how this site and others mention it flowering over June and July, yet the one I’ve seen has been in full bloom since the beginning of May.
  
  Can flowering come about that much earlier, if the weather is exceptionally warm, as it was in April?

  Yes, @dappledshade, local conditions can vary too and effect flowering times but the very warm April has also had an effect. Ours started flowering last week which is early for us.

  Looks like my Cistus Greyswood Pink. Yes sites say June flowering but mine has been in flower for weeks too.

  Thanks everybody - very grateful, as I’ve now been able to add one to an existing plant  order I have, with Jackson’s Nurseries (seem very efficient and knowledgeable).
