Has any grown echinacea in a pot? I've had a few in the ground without much success. This year I've grown some from seed. I'm not expecting much from them this year however I'd like to keep them so wondered how they'd do in a pot?
@tattianna hi I would see no reason why they wouldn't do well in pots on the proviso that the pot is quite deep, they are in full sun, you ensure that soil is kept from becoming overly soggy. I'd add plenty of horticultural grit to your soil. I've grow echinacea quite successfully from seed or plug and they are fairly Hardy plant for me, even though I know they have an unreliable reputation
Definitely. Ours that are in pots do better, as they are less prone to slug damage, plus we regularly feed and water our pots. Remember to deadhead the flowers to prolong the flowering season.
