Sparrows stripping Phlomis

My Phlomis is being attacked..... by a gang of sparrows! I presume they are after the soft young foliage for their nests. I have two old bird feeders filled with cotton wool nearby which they are also taking. I would love to see their little ones all cosy in the nests.
Hope my Phlomis recovers though. Has anyone else witnessed this?

They do the same with my stachys byzantina. I hope they leave enough for the carder bees later in the year.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Agree, I enjoy watching the aggressive carders bee on my Teucrium.
