I have a three year old Corylopsis Spicata - it has never had any catkins - could you please suggest what I could do? It is in a sunny position and watered frequently during dry weather. Thank you.

Your Corylopsis is relatively young. It will hopefully develop catkins as it matures.
Is it in a good soil?

You have titled your thread Hazel Tree. Can I just double check.
Common Hazel is Corylus avellana..it has male catkins and produces Hazel nuts.
Corylopsis ......Commonly known as spike witch hazel, and cowslip bush.....is very different...one of my favourite shrubs.

The pendulous racemes of yellow flowers in spring are a delight...(I would not describe them as catkins)
Corylopsis spicata is especially nice as they have protruding red stamen.

Have you got it planted in the right spot?
They grow best in fertile, moist but well drained soil they love dappled shade.
Could the flowers have got frosted?
Sorry ..just wanted to double check.
They normally flower as very young shrubs.
