I heard on the news today that Nigel sadly passed away yesterday, very peacefully. Sorry for your sad news Monty, my heart goes out to you. I will miss seeing Nigel on the programme. He had lived a wonderful life. Hope you can hear this Monty.

What sad news. Just a lovely dog who just loved watching and walking with Monty around his garden. As a fellow dog lover my heart goes out to Monty for his loss

So sad, I shall miss him.  I remember seeing him on last week's programme in the drizzle, Monty said that Nellie and Patti had gone inside but Nigel was still happy to be out.  He looked old and tired but I never thought that his days were numbered.
Rest in peace with your tennis balls Nigel.

I see both our newspapers carried an article, Monty said Nigel helped him with depression, and that there was a Nigel shaped hole in his life.

Sad but also a celebration of Nigel's life. In Monty's own words, 'he had a good life' and surely did. I expect Monty will be finding tennis balls for years to come all over Longmeadow, a reminder of his faithful friend.
  • Such a lovely tribute to Nigel, am sure every true dog lover had a lump in there throats, I was crying my eyes out.

I hope to name a guide dog after Nigel as a tribute from the viewers who got so much joy from watching him over the years.
