Under planting buddelia

With having so much time in garden 
want fill gaps up and bring whole borders together 
can I underplant my buddelia has I don’t have mine right at bottom

    Of course you can, but choose the right plant for the soil type and amount of light it's going to get.  Not all plants will do well in the shadow of others

    Great 👍 as I wasn’t sure ,
    area gets sun half of the day until mid afternoon 
    Can you recommend anything suitable

    One of my big buddleias has London Pride Saxifraga urbium under it, another has Welsh poppies Meconopsis cambrica.  They seem happy together.
  • Geraniums would be happy there, which is what I grow under my Buddleia.

    We have raised the canopy on our Buddleja so there’s around a meter height available It sounds like a similar aspect sun-wise to yours. We have Caryopteris and Lavendar under it plus the Buddleja stems are completely surrounded by Iris foetidissima (that was there when we moved in).

    This is great as wasn’t sure if I could underplant it 
    looks like I’ve a lot to choose from 😜😜
    thought garden always looks neat and tidy it’s going be extra special this year as had lot extra time to do and add stuff
    cant wait to add more
