Replanted tree.

in Plants
I had to move a tree the other day, as it was badly leaning over our gateway was far too close to the path as well. I was going to try andput a strap on it to straighten it back up but decided against it.
I've been watering it twice a day, upon reading another thread on something similar where it says cut some height off to reduce water loss or something like that.
I was going to cut it down a bit anyways but thought be best to wait until it was established. Whats the best course of action.

The tree won't establish if it has too much top growth
Looks like Amelanchier.
I dont know enough to advise on whether cutting back would help, with shrubs it's usual to cut them back by up to a half.
I don't think this will survive somehow so you might as well cut or leave it but most importantly water i cant seem to copy the link to barcham.co.uk on how to do this
Got it!
It had a decent root ball, i put bonemeal in the hole and absolutely soaked it. Watering twice daily at the moment. Hopefully it will come good if taking some height off would benefit it i will, if not will leave for now.
I assume you have staked the tree by now and checked it's firmly planted.
Don't know if it needs twice a day but do water slowly.
Hope it survives!
