Planting a cherry tree

Hi, I was wondering if it’s ok to plant a cherry tree over a dogs grave or will it affect the tree?

    this one depends a bit...

    I would not plant the tree directly over a decomposing animal but if the grave is a few months old it should be fine however I would dread hitting bones.

    If your dog did just die, sorry for your loss.

    IF you bury it deep enough and cover with soil and then the tree, then the trees roots will have time to establish themselves

    Thank you very much for your help. She’s been gone a year and was buried quite deep, the cherry tree has been growing in a large tub. Thanks again for your help.
