Spiky leaves

I am unsure whether this is something I planted last year which has now taken off or a weed which has come in on some cheap levelling soil. It's currently around 16 inches tall. Any ideas?

    Defo a teasel it'll throw a lovely flower head but if you don't want loads then remove the seed head before invades everywhere

    Thank you all. Most probably came in on the soil then. I'll let it flower but be careful to prevent it seeding.
