Which tree to plant in pot
Hi, hope everyone is ok in these crazy times!
I have a dull concrete front garden but space in the corner for a large planter so would like some advice on what to plant in it. The things I need to consider are;
* Ideally I'd like a small tree/bush with flowers around base. Im not a fan of connifers.
* The planter will be in full sun from around 11am until dusk
* I have a bit of black thumb so something quite easy to look after
* Needs to be a good size so it can not be carried off the drive
* Needs to be happy to stay out all year long as I have nowhere to store in winter
* Any colour or style fine, something edible would be nice as either the main centre tree/bush or planted around the base.
Any advice would be warmly received as I am a complete noob!

Novices, trees and containers. Never a good combination.
Anything in a pot/container needs a lot of care, compared with something in the ground, especially if it's in sun all day.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
