Treatment for my Raised Bed timbers which are cracking

Please can anyone suggest a safe ecological treatment for the cracking raised bed sleepers? They have been in place since Sept 2019, and I have baby lettuce now coming along nicely.

    Pretty normal really. It's timber - a natural product  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
