Pebble fountain / water feature.

Hi all, I've recently ordered plum slate chippings to replace pebbles we had on a walking area around the garden patio (lethal underfoot). I've kept the pebbles and plan to make a small water feature in an area of barren land I have (see other post).

I'm looking at something similar to the second image. Has anyone done anything similar and have any tips?

Thanks 😊

I have this taken last year. The ball I made following instructions on www.madebybarb.com.
I have a small decking lights hidden in the stones and one inside the orb so it lights the water at night.

    Thanks @""Pete.8"

Looks a similar scale project. Good to get an idea of is Ng pond liner instead of harder plastic too. Did you wire electric to the pump or is it a solar one?

I'd love to use solar but worried about the lack of sunlight, particularly as we go into winter.

@K67 very nice. Like the idea of the orb and lights. It looks a good website that; I'll have to have a proper look; love a DIY project!

I had some butyl left over from when I made my fish pond, so used that.
The pump is wired to the mains.
Solar just wouldn't have the oomph

If you’re a competent DIYer a raised fountain might be worth considering and will give an alternative seating area. This is ours

@Pete.8 that was my fear. Just trying to be green and thrifty at the same time 😁

@BenCotto I try but I'm not sure my missus would call me a competent DIYer. That's really impressive; I love a challenge but probably haven't got the space / skill for a project on the scale of yours.
