Good morning Ladybird, Chivetalking, Songbird and asunder!  Up early to weed spray, to breezy, waited and then 7.30am gave everyone a blast!  Wind has come up now.  We are taking down an old tin shack (just needed a tin opener) - I wanted to put a pergola in its place, but I think the spot will house  4cubic metres of wood for the fire this winter.  So an appointment with the tip is in order.  Have a pleasant day, everyone.

    Good Morning Hazel & Tuikowhai,
Good luck with your projects today, one going up and one coming down.
Hazel fingers crossed for you to finish the greenhouse without any further problems,
Tuikowhai that’s opening up a lovely space in your garden, a wood store is useful.
    Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone.  Chey have a good rest and hope you’ll feel better soon.  LB enjoy your visit with Jack today. It’s good to see a familiar face.  Chive it’s not too windy for you to go in the garden, although it seems a blowy at the moment.  Tuikowhaigood.luck dismantling the tin shack,it looks quite big and it will give you extra space as a wood store.  Hazel hopefully you’ll be able to heave a sigh of relief with the greenhouse.  Well done.  Lily enjoy your day.  Ante a lovely plant.  I like peonies but I don’t seem to be able to grow them.

@Songbird-1  The tin shack aka the potting shed is down and stacked away on the trailer.  This morning was calm but we have a good North Wind coming in hard.  No fun in the garden this arvo!  Just cruising around the GW site.

    Afternoon All,
Rosie you’re right it’s warmer out than I thought, motivated me to get in the garden and do a few bits,
Hazel Oh what a shame you’ve had to stop again but sensible, the gusts would make it a hazardous task.
Tuikowhai well done on your disassembly that’s half the job finished, cruising this forum is an excellent way to pass some time,
I’ve tried my hand at making puff pastry this morning, first time ever so fingers crossed 🤞

Look at this sky! Surely there’s some rain in that…

Afties all. Just back from seeing Jack. It seemed funny not seeing the koi pond any more. Jack is keeping well though his arms were covered in cuts and bruises. When I asked about the wounds he said he had been cutting down the privet between him and his neighbour. I told him off and he said that his daughter had gone berserk at him as well. Its a long standing joke that he says he has two Sergeant Majors ordering him about. He loves it really! I stayed well away from him in the garden. Sometimes it was difficult to hear what he was saying as the wind, which got up again, was thrashing the huge oak tree in the field at the back of Jack's bungalow. It was making an impressive noise. He was pleased with his tomatoes. Still no sign of my bird feeders though which is disappointing. @tuikowhai34 you may have noticed that we abbreviate our 'names' to save having to keep writing them all out. Songbird-1 has changed her name a few times so when you see us mention Hazel, that is who we are meaning. In a previous incarnation that was her name. Chivetalking became Chive and I am LB. Star gaze lily is mostly called Lily but I call her SGL as my cat is called Lily and it could get quite confusing. The tin shack is amazing. I would absolutely love trying to demolish that. I was a demon with my brothers' Meccano sets when I was younger! You could have a very pretty wood store there.
Hazel, I was quite impressed with the solidity of Jack's greenhouse despite the Force 10 gale! Its the same size as yours so when you have finally got it in place it should be nice and sturdy.

@Ladybird4 I sometimes just sign my posts "Tui".  Kowhai is the name of the tree that the native tui feed off.  Beautiful yellow flowers.  I'll try and find a picture.

Sorry, I rabbitted on a bit there so missed your post Chive. I thought I felt a spot of rain whilst I was talking through the door to Jack but I think that was wishful thinking. Mind you, it is forecast.
