Frogs loving the sun

We have a lot of frogs in our pond and today they were all out catching some rays as we topped up the pond. Currently having a bit of an issue with blanket weed but I'm slowly adding more plants along with barley straw to tackle it. I've read that water cress can help, does anyone have any experience with it? and do I just throw it in? Thanks

Yes - just chuck it in. It'll 'catch' and grow anywhere, or float on the surface, and you can pull it out if it gets too thuggish.  :)

Amazing that frogs would enjoy sitting in the sun drying out.

I tried some barley straw extract (as recommended on this forum) for getting rid of blanket weed in my tiny pond. It worked. But I have not had a frog or a toad since. I'm a bit heart broken. I think the taste much have been horrible (it's a micro-pond). Over night - no more frogs. And now the blanket weed is back. I'd have to use it again each year but, oh, I miss my frogs.

    Very handsome @Bijdezee :)

It shouldn't cause a problem @Fire. Perhaps you used too much? Watercress is very effective - especially in a small space. Maybe when the frogs return you can try that instead.

Hello Fairygirl - I have a pond and would like to grow watercress.  Do I just buy the seeds and "chuck them in" or should I start them off in a boggy mixture in a pot first?
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Just buy some from a supermarket and throw it in.
