Climbing rose has already reached top of support

Hi everyone, even after a decent pruning last winter, my climbing rose has now reached the top of its support and is hitting the guttering of the house above it: can I give it an extra prune now to keep it under control? Thanks!

    Can you train them horizontally?
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thanks - they’re as horizontal as they can be in quite a narrow space. The central stem is the one that’s reached the top, I could potentially cut this one out/down?

There are some good videos on YouTube by Paul Zimmerman on training climbing roses. I am sure I saw one for a narrow trellis.
