My tomato plants are now about a foot high and producing flowers is it too early to plant them outdoors?  I live in London .....

The weather next week will be grim - cold with strong winds. I would leave it at least a week.

Outdoor toms, June, have to watch the night temperatures.

  • Thanks you guys....will leave it a while then.  Should I take off the early flower shoots now?

I stick them out on nice days and bring in at night.

What do you do with your tomato plant at it's end of season and after you've harvested the fruit?

Unless it's got blight, in which case burn or council green waste bin.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
