Box Tree Blight

Can anyone help me to get rid of the caterpillars that nearly decimated my hedge last year? I have spent the last 2hrs picking the Besties off!!

Probably you can’t get rid of them, it’s just about managing the problem to keep the plants in good health. Vigilance is key. I’ve found that you have to keep picking them off, they will come in cycles. Also use a moth trap to try to break these cycles. Although I don’t like to do it I also spray with a pesticide, Ultimate Bug Killer. I see lots of box decimated in the area but so far I am staying on top of it with these measures.

I will add that generally keeping the hedge in good general health by mulching, feeding, and keeping adequately hydrated in dry spells should add to its resistance.
