    There is a great deal of colour variation with rana temporaria but Males are generally darker in colour than females, especially at or after breeding season. Females have a colour range from cream to yellow or ochre and are generally more ‘showy’ than males, who tend to present with darker shades in the olive - brown range.

    I dont no if its because he's a foreign frog but mine is out basking a lot in the good weather, he has three spots, following the sun around. He ignores my presence.
