I like violets and they grow well in shade, so can be useful - but yes, they can seed around a bit.  If you like them, keep them...   :)  ...if not, don't!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Thanks, I’m keeping the Welsh poppies, violets, Herb Robert and some of the mini hyacinths. Everything else will go and I’ll have a look herbs too  :)

It certainly is scraggy.  Some wild flowers and weeds are nice but you may have to start from scratch as sorting out what to keep could be a test of patience. If you already have flower seeds, can you start them off in pots whilst waiting for the weeds to disappear?  A herb garden with rosemary and sage as larger plants could keep some of the weeds down and act as a starting point.  Good luck!
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

I missed you saying there was Welsh poppies. I'd keep them - but many people don't like them.
Just remember that after using weedkiller, it would be best to wait a while before sowing anything. You can certainly sow trays of wildflower seed and transplant in a block, as @tuikowhai34 suggests.
Things like Nigella will seed everywhere too - I could have given you some    ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I know 🙈😂. I don’t usually have the time to do the front garden but as I do this year, I thought I’d try tackling it and like the idea of growing some larger herb like plants to suppress weeds.
