Our street are having an isolation street party. Everyone will stand in their own front garden and no one mingles but they're all going to get drunk at shout at each other. It will be a nightmare with a toddler to wrangle though so I'm not sure we will join in much.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I've saved the last two Magnums and intend to sit out in the garden to eat them tomorrow - that's if it's sunny!

I've had bunting & flags put by ready for the occasion BUT with all the kerfuffle of staying indoors etc..... it just seems a bit premature to be celebrating ANYTHING atall?? *Maybe I just need to get out more & take more exercise, but frankly, I can't be a***d!!

One of our neighbours was outside at 6.30 am with her young daughter putting up flags and bunting. I have to say it looks very cheerful so go for it @David Matthews2. Anything that lifts the spirits at the moment is a good thing  :)

    Morning all

I now wish we had got some bunting to put up outside now. I picked my other half up from work at 7pm last night and there were quite a few houses decorated. I was driving so could not have a good look but the peeks had they looked good.

We will be watching the Churchill programme at 3pm and we are having a nice tea in the garden with a toast to 75 years since VE day and I will be thinking of all those who sacrificed and helped during the war to give us the freedom we have today.

I am so pleased that the sun is shining for today.

You may have to move fast @PurpleRose (or anyone else who's interested),  but there are instructions here for making your own bunting using what you have hopefully got in the house.

I'll be spending it quietly at home.  Both my parents served in WWII, with my mother being on a number of bomber bases.  She didn't talk much about the bad times, other than to say a lot of young men never came back.  The one specific story which does stick in my mind is of a young bomber crew member who had twice survived crashes where other crew had died.  He came back from a bombing run, climbed out and walked straight through the propellor.  Other crew members apparently said he had been very subdued during the flight.
