not too late .You'll get the flowers a bit later, but it's better to do it now than NOT do it IMHO

I have a new one I planted last year. I hope it will flower this year. It's new growth is about 8 feet tall now. If I cut a steam will it grow new shoots like a rosemary does?

Not sure what a rosemary does but I just hack my buddleia back whenever it gets out of hand and yes, the stem develops new shoots quite quickly.

  • Hi,
I have pruned my way to a corner of my garden, and found an overgrown butterfly tree, it’s in flower, but about 12 foot and spindly. Can I prune it hard now in beginning of July?
    or should I wait? Thanks

You can basically do whatever you want to it and it will recover.

Cut it back to just above a pair of leaves on each shoot you want to trim and it should bush out nicely.
