Chafer bugs back again, in a pot

I'd be very grateful for some help please.... I've got (what I had identified last year by members of a gardening club I attend) as chafer bugs, in a tall terracotta plant pot.  Reading all the blurb around it seems they mostly come up in lawns.  I've got none in the lawn but so far have found 15 in the pot.  Any idea how I can stop them coming back - I think they've eaten my lily bulbs from last year.  
I put fresh soil in last year, compost out of a brand new bag and I washed the pot out.  
It is a pain when the same things happens for a second year isn't it !
All advice welcomed !!! Thank you all :)

    Are you sure they’re not vine weevil grubs, they love lily bulbs.

    Thank you Lyn, but I checked again before I made the post yesterday.  They deff look like chafer bugs.  They've never touched the lawn though ! So if you know of anything that looks like a chafer bug but is something else please can you let me know ??? Thank you again
