Clematis has flowers (not leaves) eaten

OrnellaOrnella Posts: 6
Any advice for what might have eaten my clematis flowers? About 60% of the petals are eaten. It's an enclosed garden (no deer could have come in). There aren't any obvious pests.

I presume it might be snails or slugs, is there an eco-friendly way to stop them eating the next ones when they come out?

Thank you very much!

A pair of cheap garden snips and night patrols under torch light...brutal but effective.

Go out with a torch at night could be earwigs fond of clematis flowers
