Strange plant

Could anyone identify this plant for me. It has suddenly appeared in my garden.

The tall thin pointy one might be corn cockle.

Thanks for your suggestion but the foliage doesn't look the same as the corn cockle pictures I've looked at.
This plant has one strong central stem with spicky leaves coming off it. No sign of flowers at present it is about 20 inches tall.

I wonder if that could be it could be a Salsify plant, Tragopogon.

Yes. Borderline was correct.......it is Tragopogon pratensis.

The 'strange plant' (May 5th.) has now got a blue flower. It looks as though it is a tragopogon porrifolious.
