Banana plant - in distress ??
My Musella Lasiocarpa banana plant in a large container with JI 3 and grit, main body approx 60cm tall.
For last 2 years a number of pups/suckers have emerged from around the base.
Reading about of when to remove the pups. It says container plant maybe more likely to suffer with pups/suckers due to stress of some kind, although watered well etc. But as said in one of my previous posts, after winter storage in my shed wrapped in a fleece for frost protection. The soil remained damp/wet and having lost one of 2 plants.
So if I was to plant in the ground as most do and where Monty removes his plants as recently on GW. My soil is clay and if planted, what sort of size hole I should provide and what media to add to ease the removal for winter if I dont winter protect in the ground.
