Powdery mildew on climbing rose

Has anyone any advice on what to do with a rose with powdery mildew? It's my son's and he's wondering whether he should prune all the affected branches. They haven't had much rain where he lives so I told him to give it - and all his other roses - a good watering, but other than that we couldn't find any other advice on the internet apart from preventative measures.

    Hi @Mokles,

Try spraying with a solution of bicarbonate of soda (5g in 1L of water ... with a little drop of washing up liquid.)

    Hope it helps.

Thanks Bee.  Should he do any pruning do you think?

I wouldn't advise any pruning nowasthe flower buds are well developed at this stage, give them a full watering can of water every week.  Clear the ground around then of all weeds and grass.......
