Perennial plant ID (not what it looks like at first glance...!)

So.. this plant has popped up in my garden, and I can't for the life of me remember what it is (common theme, here...). I do seem to remember there being a plant with these, ahem, suspiciously familiar-looking leaves...! Please can someone ID this plant for me and help me refresh my memory?

I remember my parents' first house had something like that in the front garden when we moved in (1960).   We somehow identified it as Zambezi balsam.  I think it's a nearish relative of impatiens/Bizzie Lizzie.

    Veronicastrum?
How can you lie there and think of England

Yes! Veronicastrum - that's it! Slightly less exotic than the awesomely named Zambezi balsam, but I'm still super pleased with my former self last year for planting a veronicastrum. I shall look forward to that flowering.

Ah, thank you, but I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have been foolish enough to have bought a Eupatorium, as I always associate them with bigger gardens. I love them when I've seen them (fully grown), but have always sadly bypassed them whenever I've seen them in the GC. I think it's the Veronicastrum, as that rings a bell for something I've planted.

To be honest, I'd be happy either way!
