Growing tatties?

Would like to try growing tatties in a bag to see if I can get one of my wee ones interested in gardening, is it too late to grow them? Do you just use tatties from the shop? Cheers.

Wait until the flowers have finished and the gently dig one up.The potatoes are attached to the roots. If the flowers form fruits that look like tomatoes, do not under any circumstances eat them, they are poisonous.
