Are my conifers dying?

Hi, I received these conifers as a gift at the end of March. I can't tell if I've underwatered them and they have turned this odd colour. One of them still has a green patch. Are they recoverable?

  • Sadly I very much doubt it. Conifers won't sprout from old wood so even if youi do manage to get it to grow, it will always be an odd shape. It's probably nothing that you did wrong, more likely they were grown in a poly tunnel and not hardened off properly. Best to have a fresh start

In pots, and up against a house wall. It's never a good recipe for conifers unless you're very vigilant with watering.
Even without the recent dry weather, it would be difficult to keep them hydrated and happy.
Even worse if they weren't thoroughly damp when planted, and the roots not teased out.
I'd get rid, and buy something more suited to the location.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
