Please help me ID this plant

I found this growing beside my drive - deep majenta flowers.  Would anyone know what plant it is?  Is it a weed?

    It’s a snapdragon ... antirrhinum ... a popular cottage garden perennial  ... squeeze the sides of a flower gently and it’s ‘jaws’ will open and close 😊
