Oak Tree, Oak Apples (Gall Wasp)

Hi, I have an oak tree which is roughly 190 years old. For the past five years it has 'suffered' oak apples and not produced a single acorn. I was originally told this problem should only last for a year or two. I notice now many of the oak trees down the country lanes around us have the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do / try to eradicate this ? This year is the earliest they have appeared on the tree.
Many Thanks

Nature will find its own balance eventually don't worry.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I don't see a problem, it's just part of nature's rich tapestry.
