I have grown these for fifty years or more and yet they still give me some surprises.
This year, only one showed a bud yet all the others came up with just beautiful foliage and no buds. Some never appeared at all. I would like to put up some pictures but how. I dug up a big Robustus that produced a flower stem of over 13ft but this year I found a black rotted hole where the centre growth should be. What attact it, I wonder. David
