Can you de-crystallise honey?

KT53KT53 Posts: 9,016
I have a jar of what was clear, runny honey which has crystallised and darkened.  Is there any way to reverse the process.  We like honey on fruit and yoghurt and solid honey really doesn't work for that.

Just warm it up a bit.
I leave a jar on a radiator for a few hours and it's clear.

Stand the jar in a bowl of hot water from the kettle (not boiling ... don’t want to crack the glass).

My apiarist friend says microwave it for a few seconds and stir it.  If it's still too stiff to stir, repeat until it softens.

Whether you use the microwave or hot water, it will need stirring because some bits will get warmer than others.

Thanks everybody.  I'd tried warm water but obviously not hot enough.

It's in a plastic bottle so microwave might be a bit dodgy.  I don't want honey flavoured melted plastic to clear up.

Then a jug of tap-hot water will do the job 🐝
