Advice for what plant to pick please!!

Hello! I am a very inexperienced gardener and just looking for a little advice. Last year I planted some lavender in my NW facing front garden. The wild rabbits have nibbled away at them and they are only just starting to grow back.

This year I am looking at covering the soil with white cobbles and possibly replacing the lavenders with a different plant.

I would like something that has some colour, looks neat in winter and is preferably low maintenance. I have attached a pic of my garden when I first planted the lava.

rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=209 lists some rabbit resistant plants that might suit your requirements.
I love evergreen sarcoccoa which has scented flowers in winter.
